Oshkosh Diary - Day 6

I had to leave Oshkosh very early this morning because of a family emergency. Apparently, my youngest son was held up and robbed at gunpoint at his apartment.

As they say, more as it happens.

Bob, so very sad to hear the news. I hope that everyone is safe? Things can be replaced but people cannot. Drive carefully and take care.

Bob:

I check your website everyday and I am hoping 'no news is good news' for you and your youngest son. I am taking my youngest child off to her first year at college and I worry about the safety issues of dorm and apartment living. My thoughts are with your family!

Thank you Beth. Everything is fine, as near as I can tell. The family didn't really understand why I drove back home. There's nothing I can do, they figured. And I guess they're right. But still...

Son #2 learned a difficult, expensive lesson. But it's frightening, actually, how much worse it could have been.

Craig's List. Avoid it.
