I was going to sit down this morning and write a hysterical piece about the stuff kids bring home for Mother's Day. But I ran out of time. Maybe tomorrow. In the meantime, I need your Mother's Day stories... either as a recipient or giver, preferably at a young age.
Answer in the comments section and I'll take it from there.

My mom was always a big fan of Lobster, but rare was the occasion when she would treat herself to it. We had a market that sold live lobster, and I could think of no better gift than getting her a lobster she could prepare for herself, thereby cutting the additional costs associated with going to a high-end restaraunt.
I couldn't just leave it at that, though, what with me being a bit of a joker. It had to be a surprise! So, the lobster was positioned front & center on the top shelf of the fridge where she would be SURE to find it.
In retrospect, maybe it wasn't a such a good idea to have her open the fridge first thing in the morning only to be face to face with a live (albeit lethargic) creature with really big claws.
